Resource: Exam papers for Da Vinci Decathlon competition

The Da Vinci Decathlon is an academic competition adminsitrated by Knox Grammar School in Sydney, Australia, with regional, state and national levels. Teams of eight students compete against each other to solve papers in ten disciplines: engineering, mathematics and chess, codebreaking, art and poetry, science, English, ideation, creative producers, cartography and legacy.

In 2024 I wrote one paper each for the regional and state levels of the 2025 competition in the codebreaking category, focusing on the challenge themes of ‘sustainability’ and ‘light’, respectively.

These papers are confidential as they are specifically for use as part of the competition so I can’t share them here, but they have comissioned me to write another pair for the 2026 series.
