For a special edition of The Mathematicians Podcast, host Ben Cornish invited me to join him in conversation about my similarly-titled book, The Mathematicians’ Library.
We discuss some of the motivations behind the book, which are rooted in my own feelings about what constitutes a book, what constitutes mathematics, and how these combine to form a book of mathematics. Because we both care about and are interested in the broader themes of mathematics and history (and books) we do go off on the occasional tangent, and we also talk a little about my work as a Museum Learning Consultant.
I enjoyed chatting to Ben (and I think he enjoyed it to – we overshot the usual episode length by quite some way) and I hope you’ll find something interesting somewhere in there too!
